- 3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into chunks
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ⅔ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes, orto taste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, or to taste
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons water
Stir brown sugar, ginger, soy sauce and red pepper flakes together in a bowl to dissolvesugar into the liquid.
In a small bowl add water and cornstarch together; stir with a whisk until cornstarch dissolves completely.
Heat the oil in a skillet pan on high heat. Fry the chicken and onion in hot oil till the chicken turns pink in the center and the onion becomes soft.
Now add the broccoli along with the chicken and onions and stir them together. Saute until the broccoli is heated through, about 5 minutes. Push the chicken and vegetable mixture to the side of the skillet pan.
Pour the soy sauce mixture into the free part of the pan. Stir the cornstarch slurry into the soy sauce mixture until the color is even.
Move the chicken and vegetables back into the center of the pan; saute until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and vegetables, about 5 minutes more. Chicken Broccoli Stir Fry is ready. You can serve it with rice.
